The Gain From Pain And Shame

I had another chance to have a great day to practice living in light of a compassionate connection to God and all the beings of earth. Grant me the serenity to be present in my heart’s center so I may be patient with myself and help love others more fully. I accept that I cannot change or control others and that I am powerful in my integrity morals and truth. Sometimes when we get embarrassed it shows us something we may have something we are ashamed about and may need to stop and take a look at. It can be quite uncomfortable to look at the root of this shame because usually, it stems from some traumatic events that happened early in life. It is okay no one is going to shame me today as I shame myself. I am grateful that I can catch myself from the spiral of self-hate and despair. The lies that shame tells us can be quite deceiving. They tell us we are unlovable and don’t fit into society. What a cruel joke this is and what a lie this disease truly plays on me. I do not have to listen to the false narratives that run in the background trying to undermine my joy and love for myself. This painful experience helps me grow stronger towards the solution of this spiritual and emotional sickness. It may take a lifetime but I feel I can be patient and understanding today of this healing process. When I practice patience and understanding the little voice of guilt and shame quiets down and I do not feel so stupid and pathetic. Honestly, this voice can go take a hike and just leave me be I am no longer interested in its lies. As I toughen up, I teach people so they can help themselves with that light I have inside of me. It is a gift opened from the lessons of pain and darkness so never forget your pain may be someone else’s gain someday.
